WhatsApp for iOS has introduced a feature to give users the ability to pause and resume voice messages while recording. The addition of this feature comes as an extension to the voice message preview function that was released a while back and allowed users to listen to their voice recordings before sending it to their contacts.
Furthermore, the new WhatsApp update also adds support for Focus Mode that is part of iOS 15. However, the new features are currently available to select iPhone users as they have not been rolled out globally yet.
WhatsApp for iOS version 22.5.75 allows users to pause and resume voice messages on their iPhone while recording, essentially replacing the existing stop button that was introduced through the voice message preview function in December with dynamic pause and resume buttons.
You can access the WhatsApp feature to pause voice message recording by swiping up to lock your voice recording and then tapping the pause and resume buttons. The function was initially spotted last year in October but it was not available to WhatsApp users until now.
It is pertinent to mention that the ability to pause voice messages while recording is only available to users on WhatsApp for iOS, while Android users have to wait for the feature to be rolled out on the platform, which could be soon.
Moreover, the second feature introduced in WhatsApp for iOS brings support for Focus Mode, which allows users to consider getting messages from selected users even when you don’t want to be disturbed with regular notifications.
You can download the updated version of WhatsApp now on the App Store.
