Meta-owned WhatsApp has released a new picture editing tool on the Desktop app, which is just part of constant upgrades and features being added to the encrypted messaging platform by the company.
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has released the new picture editing tool for the latest beta version of the Desktop app of the instant messenger that allows a user to crop photos as per requirement.
“This addition has been highly anticipated, as pervious versions lacked this functionality. With this update, WhatsApp beta users on Windows can now enjoy the convenience of cropping their images within the app itself, making it easer for users to edit media,” WABetaInfo stated.
The crop tool on WhatsApp Desktop will allow users to save a lot of time as before they had to crop the pictures with an external image editing took prior to sending it via the Desktop version of the messenger.
Users can now crop their photos without leaving the WhatsApp Desktop app. However, the feature has only been released to select beta testers and WhatsApp has not revealed any date for the global launch of the new picture editing tool.
Recently, WhatsApp also introduced their a screen sharing feature on their mobile apps, which can be enabled by tapping on the new icon in the call control menu during a video call. The release of the feature allows WhatsApp to better compete with apps like Zoom or Microsoft Teams, which already had the feature.
