WhatsApp is updating its voice call features in the Android app. This new update will show the caller’s picture on the entire screen during an incoming call, as reported by WABetaInfo.
Here are some of the key changes:
- Full-Screen Caller Photo: The caller’s profile picture will now cover the entire screen during an incoming call.
- New Call Management Icons: Icons at the top of the call screen will allow users to minimize the call window or add more people to the voice chat from their contacts.
- Updated Bottom Panel: The bottom panel now includes an additional settings option.
Currently, these features are only available to beta testers. To access them, users must download the latest beta version (build number 2.24.12.14) from Google Play. However, there is no exact date regarding when the update will be rolled out to all users but it is expected soon.
The new features can only be found in the Android version of WhatsApp. It is not yet known if or when they will be available for iOS users.
WhatsApp has also introduced other new features, such as creating profile photos using AI, resetting the unread message counter, and hiding group chats. Additionally, the layout of the WhatsApp app for both Android and iOS has been recently updated.
