WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new shortcut to manage the status privacy settings on the encrypted messenger. According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has started to roll out a new update for beta users on Android and references to the new shortcut for status privacy settings have been found in the update.
The update brings the version of the app to 2.22.6.2 and the new shortcut is rumored to work alongside the new caption bar which is also under development by WhatsApp. WABetaInfo report says that the new shortcut will allow you to edit the status privacy settings and select a list of users who will be able to see the status updates shared by you on WhatsApp.
Users who click an image and tap the status button from inside a WhatsApp chat, will also be able to select the audience for that status before posting it on the messenger. These include three options, including “My Contacts,” “My Contacts Expect,” and “Only Share With.”
Furthermore, WhatsApp has been spotted testing their message reaction feature on the desktop beta, which may suggest the Meta-owned encrypted messenger could release the feature in an upcoming update. Most of you are already familiar with the feature from Messenger and Instagram, however, it is now making its way to the encrypted messenger as well.
