Many features across the popular messaging app WhatsApp went down for hours. These WhatsApp features included their last seen, online status and even login and registration.
Some users even reported that they were unable to login to WhatsApp or even register new accounts while others reported unable to see the last seen status of their contacts or know whether they were online or not.

These issues were confirmed by WABetaInfo who keep a close eye on the service or any new features being introduced by WhatsApp. Downdetector who specialize in tracking outages like this also reported that WhatsApp features were down for hours and this outage was not affecting a specific region but being faced by users globally.
Soon after these features went down, WhatsApp started getting flooded with messages that the messaging platform was taking away these features although WABetaInfo reported on their post saying:
A lot of users are sharing some tweets on Twitter, reporting that WhatsApp is experimenting new features like hiding the last seen, the online status, and soon WhatsApp will disable the read receipt: IT’S FAKE!
The WhatsApp last seen, online status and registration issues have now reportedly been fixed and users can use the application normally.
