The popular messaging app WhatsApp has introduced a new feature that will make identifying members of a group chat easier. According to WABetaInfo, the new feature is available for beta testers on the latest version of WhatsApp Beta for Android version 2.23.15.9 and WhatsApp Beta for iOS version 23.13.0.76.
WABetaInfo said that, “WhatsApp is bringing enhancements to those thumbnails within group chats by introducing a particular revision to make it easier to recognize group members without a profile photo,”
The WhatsApp Tracker also shared a screenshot of the new feature that showed revision to thumbnails of contacts whose profile pictures are hidden or unavailable. Previously, WhatsApp displayed an empty profile picture with a matching color to help identify the contact. However, WhatsApp has updated the thumbnails to show the initials of the respective group member’s name.
WhatsApp is constantly bringing updates to improve user experience. Recently, the company introduced a new feature that allows users to send high-quality videos on the platform without any compression to them smaller.
