WhatsApp has finally introduced the ability to edit messages, something which has been available on competitor’s messaging platforms like Telegram Discord, and others for sometime now.
All you need to do is long-press the message you want to edit or change and select ‘Edit from the drop down menu that appears. However, the ability to edit messages on WhatsApp is only available for the first 15 minutes of sending out the message.
Once you’ve sent edited or altered the message, it will display an ‘Edited’ label, which will be visible to everyone in the chat, just like Telegram, Discord, and other messaging platforms that already have the feature.
Furthermore, WhatsApp says that like all other personal messages, media and calls, the messages you edit are protected by end-to-end encryption. The feature has already started rolling out and will be available globally in the coming weeks.
