Meta-owned WhatsApp has started rolling out its multi-device support feature, which has been one of its most anticipated features that allows users to use their WhatsApp account on multiple devices without having the need for their phone. The feature is being rolled out to both Android and iOS users who can now use the messaging service without having their phones connected to the internet.
WhatsApp can now be connected and used on up to four devices simultaneously without the need of keeping the primary phone connected to the internet. The WhatsApp multi-device support feature is especially helpful if you need to use WhatsApp on a desktop or MAC.
The multi-device support feature was initially introduced to WhatsApp in July after a series of internal testing but it was kept to a limited number of people until now. However, the company has started rolling out the feature to more people from today allowing them to use WhatsApp on multiple devices without having their phone connected to the internet.
It bears mentioning that WhatsApp multi-device feature still does not support an Android or iPhone to be used as a secondary device. This also means what you cannot use this feature to connect an Android Tablet or iPad as a secondary device to your WhatsApp account.
