WhatsApp has been spotted testing a new interface for voice calls on both Android and iOS. The instant messaging app is working on delivering an improved experience for both individual and group voice calls through the new interface.
However, the new voice call interface is not yet available for access to WhatsApp users and it is being tested internally by the company. According to WABetaInfo, a service that tracks new features on the messaging platform, stated that WhatsApp has been developing the new voice call interface to provide users with a more compact and modern experience.
WABetaInfo also shared a couple of screenshots of the new voice calls interface for a comparison of how the redesigned interface is different from the existing one. It bears mentioning that the screenshot is taken from WhatsApp for iOS, however, WABetaInfo says that the same redesigned voice calls interface is being tested on WhatsApp for Android as well.
The redesigned WhatsApp Voice Calls interface has been spotted just months after the company introduced the feature to join on-going calls, which is similar to Facebook Messenger. The instant messaging platform has also been spotted testing redesigned interface for other features as well.
WABetaInfo has recently reported about WhatsApp testing a new camera interface for Android devices with a completely redesigned layout when it comes to the position of the Flash shortcut and the Switch Camera button.
