WhatsApp is reportedly working on bringing Facebook-like profile cover photos feature for its business users. According to WABetaInfo, a service which tracks new features on the encrypted messenger, business users will be able to select a photo from their phone’s gallery or capture a new one to use as the profile cover image.
It is pertinent to mention that the profile cover photos feature is under development for WhatsApp business and there is no information regarding whether the feature is going to be introduced to the standard WhatsApp user accounts.
The WhatsApp profile cover photos feature will bring changes to the profile settings, adding a camera button that will allow users to select an image or take a new one to use as their profile cover photo. WABetaInfo has shared a screenshot of the upcoming feature from WhatsApp Business for iOS.
Furthermore, the feature is expected to roll out on WhatsApp Business for Android as well and it will be made available to beta testers before making its way to the stable version of the encrypted messenger. However, there is no timeline for the launch of the WhatsApp profile cover photos feature.
Moreover, WhatsApp has reportedly been testing a some new features for its desktop app, including a global voice message player that lets users continue playing voice notes even when they have switched to another chat. The global voice message player is available with WhatsApp Beta for Desktop 2.2204.5.
