X, formerly known as Twitter, is down in Pakistan as users are unable to access the social media platform.
According to Downdetector, an online platform offering real-time updates on website statuses, there was a uptick in complaints from users unable to access X in Pakistan.
As per their graph, X (formerly Twitter) went down around 8:30 pm and the service remains inaccessible to users in Pakistan.
It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan’s internet services have remained unreliable over the last few months with multiple social media outages and degraded overall performance.
Earlier, a statement by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority’s (PTA) Director General, Ahmed Shamim Pirzada, revealed that internet slowdowns were due to technical glitches during a software update. Furthermore, PTA is reportedly in the process of upgrading their Web Monitoring System (WMS) that may also cause internet problems for users until the process is complete.
