Xiaomi is working on the next generation of its flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 13 series, which is expected to debut as early as November. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi 13 series is expected to have multiple 50 megapixel (MP) cameras.
It is pertinent to mention that Xiaomi unveiled the Xiaomi 12 and the Xiaomi 12 Pro powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, while the company also unveiled the Xiaomi 12X featuring the Snapdragon 870. The Xiaomi 12 has a 50-megapixel main camera, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 5-megapixel telephoto macro camera, while the Xiaomi 12 Pro is equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide snapper, and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera.
Tipster Digital Chat Station says that Xiaomi 13 series will have one model with a configuration of 50-megapixel + 50-megapixel dual-camera setup and there’s another model with a 50-megapixel + 50-megapixel + 50-megapixel triple camera unit.
The Pro model will likely be equipped with upgraded main and telephoto cameras, while the tipster also mentioned another Xiaomi 13 series phones, which appears to be the Xiaomi 13 Ultra that will be equipped with upgraded camera modules and sensors.
Some reports suggest that Xiaomi 13 series will have a 6.36-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with curved edges, whereas the Xiaomi 13 Pro will be equipped with a 6.7-inch Samsung E6 AMOLED display with curved edges. The smartphone will support up to 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
Both devices are likely to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and the series may house a single battery that supports 100W charging and 50W wireless charging. However, it is still unclear whether the series includes a successor model for the Xiaomi 12X.
