WhatsApp has just introduced the ability to use the same account on four different phones as the company expands its multi-device feature, which previously allowed users to access their WhatsApp account from additional Android tablets, browsers and computers alongside one primary phone.
You can set up a secondary phone to use with your WhatsApp account after a fresh install of the app. On the first launch, you need to tap the “link to existing account” option instead of entering your phone number.
This will generate a QR code to be scanned by the primary phone via the “link a device” option in the settings. The new feature is now available for both iOS and Android devices. The feature will allow users to use the same WhatsApp account on up to four phones.
It is pertinent to mention that the primary device does not need to be turned on to receive messages across all other phones. However, in case of Android tablets or computers, if the primary device is inactive for over 14 days, WhatsApp will log out your account from these devices.
Once you login your WhatsApp account on a secondary phone, the messenger will sync up to a year of messages, so you’ll be able to see chat histories before sending any messages. Furthermore, the feature will work regardless of the original (primary) phone and the secondary phone working on two different operating systems i.e. Android or iOS.
