YouTube has gone down in Pakistan as several users have reported problems accessing the video streaming website as well as the mobile app.
UPDATE: YouTube has been restored in Pakistan.
However, the service is still accessible through a Virtual Private Network (VPN).
It is pertinent to mention that YouTube was also taken down in Pakistan on 21 August 2022 during Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan’s speech.
PEMRA had put a ban on telecasting and broadcasting speeches of Imran Khan, a move that was challenged by the PTI leader in the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) ruled in favor of Imran Khan as PEMRA was unable to satisfy the court behind the reasons for the ban.
