Google owned YouTube is reportedly bringing mini games to the video streaming platform with the latest feature called, ‘Playables’, which is going to be like a pocket arcade available on your homepage.
According to the details, the new YouTube feature, Playables, is already accessible to a few lucky beta testers on the platforms. However, the streamer has not yet revealed any information regarding the global launch of its minigames.
An example of YouTube’s mini games include ‘Stack Bounce’, a game where you guide a ball through rings and some of you might already be familiar with the concept since Google has already introduce this game on its now-defunct GameSnacks service.
YouTube’s mini games feature will take on Netflix, which has already boarded the gaming train with a bunch of titles. Unlike Netflix, YouTube’s Playables will be available on both, desktop and mobile platforms.
The feature will be available in a tab next to the content on the home feed and if you’re one of the lucky few beta-testers, it may already be available on your desktop and mobile devices.
Furthermore, YouTube has also introduced a new ‘History’ tab to save game progress, which may hint towards the release of more complex games in the future. It is expected that YouTube will release these mini games or Playables feature globally soon after it completes testing.
