Required Documents for a Transit Visa
To apply for a transit visa, you need:
- A passport or travel document with at least three months of validity.
- A passport-size photograph with a white background.
- An onward ticket to a third destination.
How to Apply for a Transit Visa
Transit visas are issued through UAE-based airlines and can be applied for online. Here’s how:
- Complete your ticket bookings.
- Visit the airline’s website and select your ticket booking.
- Look for the option to ‘Apply for transit visa’. Ensure you apply with the same airline you are flying, as itineraries with flights from other carriers won’t be accepted. The itinerary in and out of the UAE should be on one ticket (PNR), and the stay should be within the visa duration.
- After payment, the airline will issue your transit visa.
If booking through a travel agent, they can assist with obtaining a transit visa, but it will still be processed through the airline.
