KABUL: The President of Afghanistan, Ashraf Ghani, has resigned from his position and fled the country, according to TOLO News, an Afghani News Network.
Former President Ashraf Ghani fled to Tajikistan as per UK media sources.

Taliban want a peaceful transfer of power in the next few days, said a spokesman for the group BBC on Sunday.
The group is standing outside Kabul city but say they will not enter the city by force. The group says that talks are underway with the other side to negotiate entering Kabul in a secure environment to prevent harm to the people.
The Taliban have said that government will be responsible for the security of Kabul until the transition of power is completed.
The Taliban have said that the group is not seeking revenge from anyone and that all civilian and military officials will remain safe.
