There have been six causalities reported after a 5.3 magnitude earthquake jolted eastern Afghanistan on Monday.
According to the details, the earthquake that hit districts along eastern Afghanistan comes less than three months after a more powerful quake killed more than 1,000 people in the province.
The latest earthquake was felt in several provinces, including Kunar, Laghman, Nangarhar, and the capital Kabul.
The jolts were felt in several cities of Pakistan as well, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Mardan, Abbottabad, Swabi, Mohmand, Bajour, Buner and their adjacent areas
Afghanistan is frequently hit by earthquakes — especially in the Hindu Kush mountain range, which lies near the junction of the Eurasian and Indian tectonic plates.
