Bangladesh’s Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman addressed the nation, declaring the end of Sheikh Hasina Wajid’s government. The announcement came with the revelation of an interim setup, with the military taking control of government decisions.
The Army Chief reassured the public, emphasizing the military’s commitment to restoring peace and order. “People should trust the army. We will restore peace in the country,” General Waker-Uz-Zaman stated, urging citizens to have faith in the armed forces during this transitional period.

Meanwhile, in a related development, Indian media reports that Sheikh Hasina Wajid has fled to Belarus. Contrary to earlier speculations, she did not move to India after India refused her passage.
