Bernie Sanders says that the statement made by US President Donald Trump over the anti-Muslim violence in India was a “failure of leadership” on his part.
Bernie Sanders is a presidential candidate in the upcoming US elections and a Democratic member of the US Senate.
President Trump said that that what was happening in India was an internal matter of the country and Bernie Sanders tweeted saying that this was a failure of leadership on his part as there are more than 200 million Muslims who call India their home.

Bernie Sanders wrote in his tweet:
Over 200 million Muslims call India home. Widespread anti-Muslim mob violence has killed at least 27 and injured many more. Trump responds by saying, ‘That’s up to India.’ This is a failure of leadership on human rights,
The violence and protests in the city of New Delhi in India have so far taken 32 lives and injured hundreds with millions in property damage.
Senator Elizabeth Warran who is also running for president also tweeted about the situation saying that it was US responsibility to speak up saying that violence against peaceful protesters is never acceptable.
There are other speaking against the Indian government’s failure to protect its Muslims and everyone else that is being affected by this violence.
Tony Perkins who is a conservative Christian former police officer turned republican politician also spoke out against the Indian violence against Muslims saying:
One of the essential duties of any responsible government is to provide protection and physical security for its citizens, regardless of faith,
We urge the Indian government to take serious efforts to protect Muslims and others targeted by mob violence,
There have been several reports on social that the police is helping Hindu protesters and breaking CCTV cameras in an attempt to hide what is happening.
