China on Friday revised the number of the fatalities in the their city of Wuhan and raised the number by 1,290 bringing the revised death toll to 3,869 and also raised the number of confirmed cases by 325 bringing the total to 50,333 which is two thirds of China’s total 82,367 cases.
According to the state news agency, the undercount of these numbers was due to the insufficient admission capabilities at medical facilities which were overwhelmed at the time of the peak of the coronavirus outbreak.
Xinhua News Agency reported quoting an unidentified official at the Epidemic and Prevention Control Headquarters in Wuhan that due to the overwhelming conditions at the time of the outbreak, medical institutions failed to report to the disease prevention and control system in time which lef to the missed and mistaken numbers being reported.

The official was quoted saying:
The new figures were compiled through a comparison of data from Wuhan’s epidemic prevention and control big data system, the city funeral service system, the municipal hospital authority’s information system, and the nucleic acid test system to remove double counted cases and fill in missed cases,
He further told the news agency:
New death cases were added because non-hospitalised deaths had not been registered at the disease control information system and some confirmed cases had been reported late or not been reported at all by some medical institutions,
There have already been accusations that China has tried to hide the real numbers when it suddenly stopped reporting new cases or deaths especially by US President Donald Trump.
