The global death toll from coronavirus has surged past 200,000 with the majority of those fatalities in the United States alone.
The United States has over 53,000 fatalities due to coronavirus that make up over 35 percent of the global death toll. The country also has the highest number of COVID-19 cases over 953,000.
The UK reported nearly a thousand fatalities on Saturday bringing the total death toll of the country to over 20,000 which is the fifth highest globally. The number of coronavirus cases are over 148,000 and rising rapidly everyday.

Italy has the second highest death toll over 26,000 however, it is no where close to the United States with the highest number of fatalities. The number of cases in the country are over 195,000. There has been a significant improvement in the daily numbers being reported.
The third highest death toll is being reported by Spain with almost 23,000 fatalities while the number of cases in the country is over 223,500.
France recently saw a huge rise in the daily numbers the country was reporting as the coronavirus pandemic reached its peak in the country. However, there has been a significant improvement over past few days. The number of fatalities are over 22,500 while the total number of cases are over 161,000.
