Skymet Weather on Tuesday had stated that the low pressure developing in the Arabian Sea is expected to become more noticeable and become a deep depression. The deep depression was moving towards Yemen and Oman following west-northwest direction.
Cyclone LubanThe possibility of it converting into cyclone could not be ruled out at that point. If cyclone developed, it would be named Cyclone Luban

Senior meteorologist/ International forecasting manager, AccuWeather Jason Nicholls has warned Cyclone Luban is expected to come up on lower latitude and hit Yemen and Oman moving towards west-northwest direction causing heavy showers in Indian and parts of Kerala between October 5 and 8. Parts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will be affected as well by upcoming activities in the Bay of Bengal.
By late weekend rainfall will increase from south Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Sri Lanka.
Cyclone Luban May Hit Pakistan
Main threat area from the cyclone is from Oman to south Pakistan late next week/next weekend.
Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) has forecasted development of low-pressure area over south Arabia Sea around 6th October. Which is likely to intensify into depression and move northwestwards.
