Danny Baker has been fired by BBC Radio 5 Live for a royal baby tweet which compared the baby to a chimpanzee.
The tweet has been deleted already.
He lost his job for the racist joke.
The sixty-year-old radio host tweeted than deleted his tweet which compared the little Archie Harrison to a chimpanzee.
Danny Baker received a lot of criticism as users believed he was mocking the Duchess of Sussex’s racial heritage.

The tweet which has been deleted showed an image of a couple holding hands of a dressed monkey. It was captioned “Royal Baby Leaves the Hospital.

The racist tweet immediately circulated on the social media
A BBC spokesperson said: “This was a serious error of judgment.”
The corporation added Danny Baker is an excellent broadcaster but his tweet goes against the values we as a station aim to embody.

Baker tweeted his sincere apologies and said:
Once again. Sincere apologies for the stupid unthinking gag pic earlier. Was supposed to be joke about Royals vs circus animals in posh clothes but interpreted as about monkeys & race, so rightly deleted. Royal watching not my forte.
Also, guessing it was my turn in the barrel.

Would have used same stupid pic for any other Royal birth or Boris Johnson kid or even one of my own. It’s a funny image. (Though not of course in that context.) Enormous mistake, for sure. Grotesque.

The call to fire me from @bbc5live was a masterclass of pompous faux-gravity. Took a tone that said I actually meant that ridiculous tweet and the BBC must uphold blah blah blah. Literally threw me under the bus. Could hear the suits knees knocking.

There is mix reaction from public for firing Danny Baker which can be observed through their tweets.
Interesting that the BBC keep Alan Sugar on the payroll despite his racist tweets about the Senegal World Cup team but sack Danny Baker. You can be racist about working class people and foreigners, but not about posh people I guess.
