Dubai’s Crown Prince unveiled a new logo for the Government of Dubai during the executive council’s first meeting after its recent reconstitution. The directive was given to implement the new logo promptly across all government entities while allowing them to retain their distinct logos. A transition period of six months was granted for this implementation.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, emphasized that the new logo symbolizes Dubai’s visionary leadership and transformative development journey. He allocated Dh40 billion for the ‘Dubai Portfolio for Public-Private Partnership’ for 2024-2026 and approved the ‘Affordable Housing Policy’ and the ‘Dubai Sandbox’ project to support 100 tech ventures initially.
The Dh40 billion allocation for the Public-Private Partnership portfolio aims to boost government spending, private sector investment, and foreign direct investment as outlined in the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33. This initiative is overseen by the Department of Finance through Dubai Digital Platforms.
The ‘Affordable Housing Policy’ aligns with Dubai’s 2040 Urban Master Plan, addressing housing needs and fostering vibrant communities. It offers diverse housing options catering to different income levels and facilitates the development of worker accommodations near workplaces.
The ‘Dubai Sandbox’ project aims to accelerate start-up growth, particularly in technology and emerging sectors, fostering an entrepreneurial culture and global integration within the innovation ecosystem. This initiative is part of the D33 agenda, focusing on doubling the emirate’s economy over the next decade and positioning Dubai as a top global innovation hub.
Several institutions, such as the Dubai Municipality, the Roads and Transport Authority, the Land Department, and the Electricity and Water Authority, are in charge of enforcing these regulations. The projects are part of Dubai’s vision to be at the forefront of innovation, which includes areas like artificial intelligence, real estate technology, health-tech, and green technology to combat climate change.
