Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has recently introduced a short-term three month “permit to practice,” which enables any visiting medical practitioners to be able to practice in UAE. The statement was released at the Arab Health Congress 2024 which is ongoing in Dubai. This project, as reported by DHA, is forward-thinking and can help boosts the capability of the local health system to handle disasters, emergencies, and crises.
According to DHA, the temporary practice permit is designed to ascertain a dynamic environment for the visiting medical professionals in response to the demand for trained healthcare providers in the emirates and get access to specialized medical expertise.
In fact, Dr. Marwan Al Mulla, CEO of DHA’s Health Regulation Sector, stressed out that securing a permit does not ensure immediate approval for a professional license in the same practice subsequently. The annex to the Unified Professional Qualification Guide contains specific requirements for acquiring a professional license, which is obtained only when fulfilled.
