Dubai has introduced a new a Nol card for school and university students that offers a range of exclusive benefits. Acting as a globally recognized student ID, it grants access to various services and discounts worldwide. Students can avail up to 70% discounts and special offers at Dubai retail outlets, including school and university canteens, by using the Nol card for payments. Furthermore, the students can also avail 50% discount on public transport across UAE.
Salah Almarzooqi, Director of Automated Collection Systems Department at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), disclosed plans to launch the card in September 2024, coinciding with the new academic year. Students can apply for the card through the Nol Pay app and have it delivered to their homes. Existing student Nol cardholders can easily upgrade to the new version upon its release.
The agreement to introduce the new card was finalized between the RTA and the ISIC Association during the Mena Transport Congress and Exhibition. The internationally recognized ISIC card verifies student status and offers numerous discounts worldwide, enhancing student experiences.
According to Mohammed Al Mudharreb, the CEO of Corporate Technology Support Services Sector at RTA, the aim of the partnership is to make commutes easier for students through Dubai’s public transport system that includes Metro, tram, buses, and marine transport.
Also, the new Nol card can be used to make payments at schools and retails outlets as well.
Parents can manage their children’s accounts through the new Nol card, overseeing balance top-ups and setting daily expenditure limits, thus ensuring responsible spending.
