Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a temporary traffic plan for Sheikh Zayed Road due to COP28 conference from December 1 to 3, 2023.
According to the details, the RTA has announced diversion of traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road heading towards Abu Dhabi, spanning from the Trade Centre Roundabout to the Expo Intersection.
This traffic diversion is scheduled to be in effect from 7 am to 11 am for three consecutive days, specifically from December 1 to 3, 2023. This decision aligns with the UAE’s Union Day celebrations and its concurrent hosting of the UN Climate Change Conference COP28.
In collaboration with the Dubai Police General Headquarters, Dubai’s RTA has meticulously devised a comprehensive traffic plan to ensure the seamless flow of traffic during this period.
The strategic plan encompasses the utilization of alternate routes such as Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Road, Emirates Road, Al Khail Road, Jumeirah Road, Al Wasl Road, and Al Khail Road.
To enhance public convenience, the RTA strongly encourages the use of public transportation for daily commutes. Additionally, motorists are urged to stay informed by following directional signage and updates displayed on smart screens, providing real-time information on temporary traffic diversions and available alternative routes.
