The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai announced the temporary closure of select roads in Dubai for the UAE Tour Women’s cycling race taking place on Thursday.
The RTA specified that the road closure will occur between 1:30 pm and 4:30 pm for approximately ten to fifteen minutes at particular intersections as the cycling competitors go through. This collaborative plan with the Dubai Police is aimed at ensuring safety and seamless cycling.
Motorists are highly recommended to refer the route map in the video below for further details about the closure that will help them in moving through affected areas and identifying alternative routes during this time period.

Dubai Police, in turn, urged road users to adhere to traffic systems, instructions, guidelines, and rules, emphasizing the importance of exercising caution, reducing speeds, and considering alternative routes.
The second edition of the UAE Tour Women’s cycling race is scheduled from February 8 to 11. The inaugural stage, known as the Dubai Stage, will cover a distance of 122km from Dubai Miracle Garden to Dubai Harbour on Thursday. The route includes iconic landmarks such as Dubai Sports City, Al Qudra Cycle Track, and Global Village before concluding at Dubai Harbour.
Featuring 20 teams with six riders each, including last year’s winner Italian Elisa Longo Borghini, the Tour comprises four stages—Dubai Stage, Modon Stage (113km), Presight Stage (128km), and Aldar Stage (105km).
Subsequent stages will take the riders from Al Mirfa Bab Al Nojoum to Madinat Zayed in Abu Dhabi on Friday, Al Ain Police Museum to Jebel Hafeet on Saturday, and a final stage starting at Louvre Abu Dhabi Museum and concluding at Abu Dhabi Breakwater.
