Dubai Health has just launched ‘The Child Fund’ through the Al Jalila Foundation, and Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Health Board of Directors, was there for the announcement.
This new annual charitable fund, totaling Dh50 million, is specifically dedicated to providing crucial medical care for 3,000 children each year at Al Jalila Children’s Hospital, the UAE’s only children’s hospital.
The announcement took place at Al Jalila Children’s Hospital, attended by Dr Raja Easa Saleh Al Gurg, Chairperson of Al Jalila Foundation Board of Directors, Dr Amer Sharif, CEO of Dubai Health and President of the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, Dr Amer Al Zarooni, CEO of Al Jalila Foundation, Dr Abdulla Al Khayat, CEO of Al Jalila Children’s Hospital, as well as several officials and major donors.
During Sheikh Mansoor’s visit to Al Jalila Children’s Hospital, he met with young patients and learned about the hospital’s specialized services focused on child-friendly healthcare quality and excellence.
Sheikh Mansoor expressed gratitude to all donors for upholding excellence in Dubai’s health system, especially for children. He emphasized the importance of their collective efforts in providing the best healthcare and aligning with the enduring values of giving and compassion in the UAE.
‘The Child Fund’ is established as a dedicated children’s charity program to raise funds for life-saving medical support for children in need. Beyond being a beacon of hope for children and families in the UAE, the initiative aims to nurture a culture of giving in the community, ensuring every child receives the necessary care to thrive.
Dr Raja Al Gurg highlighted Al Jalila Foundation’s significant impact through its A’awen patient treatment program, reaching thousands of patients and families across the UAE. With ‘The Child Fund,’ they pledge to extend care, providing hope for a brighter future for more children and reaffirming their commitment to a healthy future.
Dr Abdulla Al Khayat emphasized that ‘The Child Fund’ goes beyond medical treatment; it’s a beacon of hope for families facing life-threatening illnesses. The initiative allows their dedicated team to extend life-saving care to those who cannot afford necessary treatments, aligning with Al Jalila Children’s commitment to excellence.
During the launch, ‘The Giving Wall’ was introduced as a tribute to donors impacting children’s lives. Donors were invited to sign a pledge in support of the Dh50 million annual fund dedicated to providing essential medical care for 3,000 children per year. Notable partners include the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian & Charity Establishment, Easa Saleh Al Gurg Charity Foundation, Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department, Awqaf Dubai, Albatha Holding, IFFCO, and Tarahum.
‘The Child Fund’ builds on Al Jalila Foundation’s history of philanthropic achievements, supporting various healthcare programs in medical education, research, and patient care, transforming thousands of lives. The Foundation has provided medical treatment to over 8,600 patients, including 30 percent children, suffering from life-threatening conditions, showcasing its ongoing commitment to transforming lives in the community.
