Former Indian President Pranab Mukherjee passed away on Monday at the Army Hospital according to his son and former member of parliament Abhijit Mukherjee who shared the news on social media.
Pranab Mukherjee was admitted to the Army Hospital on August 10 after being diagnosed with coronavirus and had also undergone surgery for removal of a clot in his brain.

His son Abhijit took to Twitter informing everyone the news of his father’s passing despite efforts of doctors and prayers from people throughout India.
Pranab Mukherjee served as the 13th Indian Preisdent from 2012 to 2017 with a political career spanning five decades while also holding position of a senior leader in the Indian National Congress.
