Now you can easily renew your driving learning permit online from your home by using Dubai Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) website at rta.ae.
It is pertinent to mention that Dubai’s driving learning permit are only valid for three months and once the period has passed, you may get an SMS stating that your learning file or permit has been deactivated.
In that case, you needed to visit the same driving centre to get your learning permit renewed; however, you can get your learning file or permit reactivated through the Dubai RTA’s official website.
How to renew driving learning permit online in Dubai?
Step 1: Set up a UAE Pass account, your national digital identity for UAE residents and visitors.
Step 2: Visit the RTA website:
- Click ‘Login’ (top right).
- Sign in using UAE Pass.
- Navigate to ‘Licensing’ and select ‘Licence category.’
- Click ‘Apply for a New Driving Licence.’
- Answer questions and select your licence category.
After category selection, you’ll get a prompt to reactivate your learning file. Click the provided link.
Step 3: Pay for the renewed learning permit:
- Click ‘Pay Now’ after viewing the renewal fee (Dh320).
- Enter your card details in the payment platform.
- Once payment’s successful, receive confirmation from RTA.
Step 4: Access your learning permit and book exams:
- In ‘My Licensing,’ click ‘Learning Permit’ to view/download it.
- In ‘My Exams,’ click ‘Book an Exam’ to schedule theory/practical exams.
Note: If your permit expired over 6 months ago, you’ll need to reapply.
