The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi Abu Dhabi (IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi) has announced a master program in Energy Transition and Sustainability (ETS) at Zayed University, commencing in January 2024. Tailored for the Abu Dhabi campus, the program aims to equip professionals and scholars in the energy industry with the knowledge to implement sustainable solutions.
Notably, the launch aligns with the UAE’s preparation to host COP28 and its Year of Sustainability in 2023, supporting the goals of the UAE National Energy Strategy 2050. The program strives to empower graduates with a deep understanding of technology and policy frameworks, fostering a new generation of leaders adept at navigating the complexities of energy transition.
Established through a historic MoU signed by IIT-Delhi and the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) in July, IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi seeks to play a pivotal role in shaping a sustainable future. Mubarak Hamad Al Mheiri, Undersecretary at ADEK, emphasized the program’s significance in addressing complex challenges associated with energy transition.
Successful ETS master’s applicants with science and engineering backgrounds will undergo a two-year program at IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi.
