Over 50 people were killed as a deadly blast targeted a mosque in northern city of Kunduz in Afghanistan during Friday prayers, Interior Ministry Spokesperson Qari Sayed Khosti told AFP.
“This afternoon, an explosion took place in a mosque of in the Khan Abad district of Bandar, the capital of Kunduz province, as a result of which a number of our compatriots were martyred and wounded,” said Taliban chief spokesman Zabihullah Muhajid.
The local media is reporting dozens of causalities while residents of Kunduz are sharing graphic videos and images of the blast on social media, especially Twitter.
