The Ministry of Interior in Kuwait is enforcing strict rules regarding visit visa overstays, requiring visitors and their sponsors to correct the violation within an extra week after the typical one-month duration. Lieutenant General Salem Al Nawaf, the Ministry’s Undersecretary, emphasizes the importance of strictly adhering to visit visa laws, warning that failure to comply, coupled with unpaid fines, will result in deportation for both the visitor and the sponsor.
Additionally, the ministry has introduced a grace period for individuals violating residency regulations. On the first day, 652 submissions were received for status regularization before the June 17 deadline. Out of these, 258 individuals were approved to leave Kuwait after resolving legal or financial issues. The ministry, along with various departments, is assisting violators in regularizing their status or exiting the country promptly.
This initiative aims to ensure compliance with Kuwait’s residency laws, providing clear guidelines for those seeking to adjust their status. Those who rectify their situation within the specified timeframe can avoid severe consequences such as deportation and future entry bans, highlighting the ministry’s commitment to maintaining legal compliance and order.
