According to the details, the doors of Holy Kaaba were installed in 1399 AH, (1978 AD), subsequent to the commands from the then Royals. King Shah Khalid had offered prayers inside Baitullah in 1976 AD, after which he instructed to build the entrance of pure gold.
The sacred contract was given to the factory of Sheikh Mahmud bin Badr, a renowned goldsmith in Makah, whereas the designing and the crafting of the door was performed by architect Munir Al Jundi.
Here to mention, at that time, the Saudi government desired a Muslim engineer for the construction of the sacred door, so that his name could be engraved on it as a designer. And, hence, the late Munir Al Jandi has the honor of having his label inscribed on the golden door of Baitullah.
