At least 128 people have been killed and dozens injured in Nepal after a strong earthquake struck the western part of Jajarkot district on late Friday night.
According to Nepal’s National Seismological Centre, the earthquake was recorded at 6.4 magnitude, while the German Research Centre for Geosciences measured the quake at 5.7 magnitude and the US Geological Survey recorded the quake at 5.6 magnitude.
The quake is reportedly the deadliest since 2015 when around 9,000 people lost their lives in two earthquakes.
The death toll from Friday’s earthquake in Nepal is expected to rise as rescue teams continue efforts to clear road blocked by landslides to reach affected areas.
