Starting July 1, 2024, a new public bus service now caters to residents of Damac Hills 2, a sought-after neighborhood on the outskirts of Dubai.
Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) bus stop signs, featuring the RTA logo, have been installed within the community, outlining the route named DA2. This route circulates through Damac Hills 2’s clusters before heading to Dubai Studio City.
An RTA call center representative confirmed that operations for the new DA2 buses commenced on July 1. The service runs between Damac Hills 2 and Dubai Studio City, operating every two hours. According to the newly installed RTA signboards, the first bus departs at 5:47 am and the last at 9:32 pm daily, with a flat fare of Dh5 per trip.
The buses on this route have a capacity of 30 passengers each.
This new public transport initiative aims to provide relief to Damac Hills 2 residents, many of whom currently rely on private vehicles for commuting. For individuals like Linda Panganiban, a Filipino expat without a car, the RTA bus service offers a more affordable alternative to costly taxi rides, potentially saving significant expenses on daily commutes.
