Nusrat Jahan Rafi: 16 people charged for burning her alive

Bangladesh: Bangladesh has charged 16 people for burning Nusrat Jahan Rafi alive at her madrasa.

Among the sixteen people charged also included is the principal of the Islamic school.

Nusrat Jahan Rafi was burnt alive on 6th April for reporting sexual assault against her Headmaster Siraj Ud Doula.

The police have arrested sixteen people in connection to Nusrat Jahan’s murder on Wednesday.

They have also said they will seek death panelty for the charged.

The 16 would be charged with planning, executing, and aiding and abetting the murder.

All of them would be facing death penalty.

6. Jabed Hossan alias Shakhawat Hossain, 19, (student)
7.  Hafiz Abdul Kader, 25, (Madrasa Hefzo teacher)
8. Afsar Uddin, 33 (English teacher)
9. Kamrunnahar Moni, 19 ( niece of suspect Shahadat Hossain Shamim and also an Alim examinee)
10. Umme Sultana Poppy, 19 (Alim examinee)
11. Mohammad Shamim , 20 , (Alim examinee)

All the accused are behind bars. Twelve of the suspects have also given confessional statements.

They have also given the details of roles played by all the sixteen involved in the murder.

The brave Nusrat Jahan Rafi was only nineteen-years-old when she was doused with kerosene and set on fire on the roof of her Islamic school.

She had reported sexual harassment against her principal which led to her tragic death.

She had refused to withdraw her case against the Headmaster Siraj Ud Doula.

The police have also said that the headmaster has ordered her murders from the prison for refusing to withdraw the case.

They also called her murder was prepared like a military plan.
