Peru was hit by a 7.5 magnitude earthquake on Sunday, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).
The epicenter of the earthquake was 42 kilometers northwest of the coastal city of Barranca with a depth of some 112.5 kilometers.
However, there is no tsunami alert issued by authorities following the earthquake in Peru.
There have no reported causalities so far.
The deep earthquake in Peru has caused shock waves across the northern and central regions while affecting almost half of the country, including coastal and Andean regions such as Cajamarca, Piura, Tumbes, Lambayeque, Ancash, and capital Lima.
