Plane with 62 Aboard Crashes in Residential Area in São Paulo

São Paulo, Brazil – August 10, 2024 – A VoePass airline plane with 62 people on board crashed in a residential area in São Paulo state on Friday, resulting in a devastating fiery wreck. The tragic incident occurred in the city of Vinhedo, just outside of São Paulo, but details regarding the number of injured or fatalities have yet to be confirmed.

The aircraft, en route to São Paulo’s Guarulhos International Airport, was carrying 58 passengers and 4 crew members when it went down. VoePass confirmed the crash but did not provide any information on the possible cause of the accident.

Firefighters were quickly dispatched to the scene and are currently working to contain the flames and rescue any potential survivors. However, the extent of the damage and the full impact of the crash remain unclear.

Brazilian television network GloboNews aired disturbing footage showing a large area engulfed in flames, with smoke billowing from what appeared to be the plane’s fuselage amidst densely packed homes. Additional video showed the plane spiraling downward before crashing, indicating a loss of control prior to impact.

At an event in southern Brazil, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva led the crowd in a moment of silence in honor of those affected by the crash. The president expressed his deep condolences and promised a thorough investigation into the cause of the tragedy.

Authorities are expected to release more information as the situation develops. The crash has sent shockwaves through the nation, with many anxiously awaiting news on the fate of those aboard the flight.
