The Royal Family members have gathered to be by the side of Queen Elizabeth as doctors have voiced concern over the health of the 96-year-old monarch on Thursday, saying she should remain under medical supervision.
Queen Elizabeth, Britain’s longest-reigning sovereign and the world’s oldest monarch, has been suffering from what Buckingham Palace called “episodic mobility problems” since the end of the last year.
“Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision,” the palace said in a statment.
Meanwhile, the Queen’s eldest son and heir, Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, have travelled to her Scottish home Balmoral Castle, where Queen Elizabeth is staying.
Prince William, the Queen’s eldest grandson and second in line to the throne, is on his way there, while his wife Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, has remained in Windsor as her children are on their first full day at their new school.
Prince William’s brother, Prince Harry, and his wife Meghan had been in the UK in recent days for engagements, and are now known to be travelling to Scotland too.
