The Ministry of Interior in Saudi Arabia (KSA) has reported the arrest of 17,463 individuals for various violations related to residency, labor, and border security laws. These arrests were a result of joint field campaigns conducted by different security units across the Kingdom from November 16 to 22.
Among the detained individuals, 10,856 were arrested for residency system violations, 3,934 for breaching border security rules, and 2,673 for labor law infractions. Additionally, 773 people were apprehended while attempting to illegally enter the Kingdom, with 44% being Yemeni nationals, 45% Ethiopian, and 11% from other nationalities. Another 54 individuals were caught trying to exit Saudi Arabia unlawfully.
The campaign also led to the arrest of 11 individuals involved in the transportation and harboring of those violating residency and work regulations, including those engaged in cover-up activities.
Currently, 50,699 violators are undergoing legal procedures, consisting of 44,091 men and 6,608 women. Measures have been initiated for the repatriation of these individuals, with 44,651 referred to their diplomatic missions for travel documents, 1,617 awaiting travel reservations, and 10,197 already deported.
The Ministry of Interior issued a stern warning, highlighting that any involvement in the illegal entry, transportation, or sheltering of individuals would result in severe consequences. Those found guilty of such actions may face penalties of up to 15 years of imprisonment, fines reaching SR1 million, and the confiscation of any vehicles and properties used in these illegal activities.
