The search for a missing dog named Cuddles, a much-loved three year old cockapoo in Al Garhoud, Dubai has come to an unfortunate end. After all the efforts, even distributing flyers and offering reward of Dh100,000, the family got bad news that Cuddles may have been hit by speeding car.
When the family received a photograph of the deceased dog, which led them to accept the cruel reality of his death, family spokesperson confirmed. The evidence points to Cuddles being hit by a car late on Saturday night or early Sunday morning, consistent with the area where he initially went missing.
The family thanks those who helped them in their quest during this trying period. They blame the pet relocation company for negligence, during Cuddles’ transport to a health inspection because of inadequate care and supervision that allowed the animal to escape from their vehicle.
In a somewhat ironic twist, the discovery of Cuddles led to an unforeseen reunification of another lost dog with its owner. The family, finding themselves deluged with responses to their reward announcement and unaware of it, inadvertently made another family happy by reuniting them with their missing pet.
With Cuddles’ death, the family stresses that pet transportation should be done with care and a lack of it can lead to such tragic outcomes.
