As Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are the official weekend days in Sharjah for federal employees, those who typically work a four-day week will enjoy a 10-day holiday to celebrate Eid Al Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting.
Regardless of when the moon is sighted, the holiday will officially begin on April 8. Ramadan lasts either 29 or 30 days according to the Islamic calendar, and Eid al-Fitr falls on the first day of Shawwal, the month after Ramadan.
