The Government of Sharjah has announced revised working hours for the holy month of Ramadan 2024, which will affect all government departments, institutions, and bodies. Ramadan, anticipated to begin on March 12th in 2024, prompts the adjustment to accommodate religious observances and cultural practices.
During Ramadan, government sector employees will work from 9 am to 2:30 pm, applying to both fasting and non-fasting individuals, which will allow everyone to engage in spiritual activities and cultural traditions associated with the month. The decision reflects a commitment to inclusivity, respecting religious diversity within the workforce. It enables employees to balance professional duties with personal religious obligations.
Additionally, suggestions from the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources ensure that all government bodies remain consistent, enhancing efficiency and compliance with labor regulations during Ramadan. In essence, these changes signify proactive steps towards cultivating a workplace environment that embraces inclusivity, respecting both religious freedom and cultural expression.
