LONDON: Animal bleed for human greed – A campaign by animal rights activist group “Animal Rebellion” turned Trafalgar Square fountains blood-red using nontoxic dye in central London.
The campaigners were seen holding play cards which read ” Animal Bleed For Human Greed”, Government has Blood on Their Hands”, “Transition to Plant Based Food System”, “Another World is Possible-A world Free of All Oppression”.
According to Animal Rebellion, the actual cause for the COVID-19 pandemic crisis is animal agriculture. The group demands the end of animal farming and transitioning to a plant-based food system. They believe this would prevent future pandemics.

The Animal Rebellion have shared their view through a twitter post.
They also stated
The Government has blood on their hands” – This crisis could have been prevented. The science tells us that 3 out of every 4 new infectious diseases originate from animals.
“People Over Profit” – The UK Government must protect the people, not support climate-destructive and exploitative industries.
The group organised peaceful protest in 20 different cities including New York, Bristol and Brighton.
The group also shared their message in an Instagram post, it states The government has blood on their hands and are responsible for the suffering and deaths of trillions of animals used for food every year.
The messages goes on to say that the government needs to thak bold steps to make the changes for transitioning to plant based food system.
It also clearly states the reason behind the current pandemic crises is animal farming. To prevent future pandemic the government should end animal farming.

The COVID-19 outbreak is feared to have been originated from the wet market in Wuhan, China. The pandemic was identified in the end of 2019 and till now it has gripped the world and has infected more than thirteen million people across the world. A total of 576,524 people have died due to COVID-19.
Kieran Blyth, a representative for the group, said: “These unsatisfactory and dangerous measures will only increase the risk of future pandemics. The government is playing with the potential of tens of thousands more deaths.”
Stephanie Zupan, an Animal Rebellion representative, said: “The Government must now begin a transition towards a plant-based food system, or risk future zoonotic pandemics of catastrophic proportions.
