The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) officially declared Eid Al Fitr holidays for workers in private sector.
The Ministry stated that from Monday, 29 Ramadan (8 April 2024) to 3 Shawwal, all private sector employees in the UAE will have paid time off to celebrate Eid Al Fitr.
According to the announcement, Eid Al Fitr holidays for private sector employees will start on Monday, April 8 (Ramadan 29). If Eid begins on Tuesday, offices will be closed until Thursday, April 11.
If Shawwal moon is sighted on Tuesday, the private sector Eid holiday will last until Friday, April 12.
UAE Public sector holiday
The UAE Cabinet has confirmed a one-week holiday for the public sector to observe Eid Al Fitr. This matches the earlier announcement from the UAE Federal Authority for Government Human Resources. Government workers will have paid leave from Monday, April 8 to Sunday, April 14, and will return to work on Monday, April 15.
