From 1st of February, a pre-entry visa will no longer be required for UAE citizens visiting the UK according to the announcement made by the UAE Embassy in London. The two-year exemption enables the UAE citizens to apply through the UK ETA app or the Gov.UK website.
This initiative is a milestone in UAE-UK relations, as it brings into effect the ‘Electronic Travel Authorization’ (ETA) scheme to facilitate travel which will bring an improved speed, accessibility and affordability.

The simplification of travel procedures makes the new process a very positive one that enhances the effect in which Emiratis visiting the UK enjoy. According to the Gov.UK website, as of February 22, 2024, the travelers will need to apply for an ETA; applications are accepted from February 1, 2024.
