The UAE Cabinet has revised the validity of Emirati passports from 5 to 10 years for individuals aged 21 and above. According to the details, the decision was taken by the UAE Cabinet as it approved amendments to the executive regulations of the federal law governing citizenship and passports.
The announcement was made by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, via social media platform X (formerly Twitter) after the cabinet meeting on Monday.
The new regulations bring additional benefits to UAE passport holders, such as enhanced facilities and digital services that are aimed to improving convenience and efficiency. Furthermore, the decision also underscores the UAE government’s commitment towards empowering youth and improving services provided to citizens.
Additionally, the Council of Ministers adopted a national policy for the circulation and manufacture of biofuels. This decision is in line with the government’s commitment towards promoting cleaner fuels. Meanwhile, the cabinet was also briefed on the achievements of the Digital Quality of Life Council that has worked with social media platforms to remove over 160,000 websites harmful to youth.
